Bicycle hire contract

The following has been agreed:
1. Purpose of the contract
The purpose of this contract is to hire a BIANCHI brand C-TYPE identified by the number XXXXXXX , belonging to Morvan Bike.
2. Duration of the lease
The rental period begins on and ends on . Any extension must be expressly agreed with the Hirer and accepted if the vehicle is not reserved.
3. Rates and payment terms
The hire charge is € per day. For a total of : A deposit of €3500 is required and will be returned to the Hirer at the end of the hire period, subject to the condition of the bike.
Payment must be made by cash, credit card, bank transfer or cheque before picking up the bike.
4. The Tenant's obligations
The Hirer undertakes to :
Use the bicycle with care and in accordance with the Highway Code.
Not to lend, sublet or transfer the bicycle to a third party.
Return the bike on the agreed date and time in good working order.
Inform the Hirer immediately in the event of theft, loss or accident involving the bike.
Assume full responsibility for any damage caused by the use of the bicycle.
5. Liability and insurance
The Hirer acknowledges that he/she is responsible for any damage, theft or loss of the bicycle during the hire period. In the event of theft, the deposit will be retained and the Hirer must file a report with the competent authorities.
The Hirer declines all liability in the event of personal injury or material damage occurring during use of the bicycle.
No breakdown service: The Hirer does not provide any breakdown service in the event of mechanical or battery failure. The Hirer is responsible for managing technical incidents during the hire period.
6. Return of the bicycle
The Hirer must return the bicycle on the date and at the time specified. Bicycles must be returned before 5.30 p.m. on opening days. In the event of late return, an additional charge of €50/hour will be applied.
If the bike is returned damaged, the cost of repairs will be deducted from the deposit or billed to the Renter.
7. Termination of the contract
The Hirer reserves the right to terminate the rental contract in the event of non-compliance with the conditions by the Hirer, without refund.
8. Applicable law and disputes
This contract is subject to French law. In the event of a dispute, the parties will endeavour to find an amicable solution. Failing this, the competent court will be that of the Hirer's jurisdiction.
